Description of the genus

Climbing herbs. Leaves alternate, simple, cordate. Inflorescence (in ours) of numerous small flowers arranged in axillary panicles. Calyx of 5 accrescent lobes. Corolla (in ours) white. Stamens 5. Ovary 2-locular. Style 1, capitate or 2-lobed. Fruit indehiscent or a 2-valved capsule.
